The sign is over 100 years old (dated 1891 - 1916) as for advertising purposes ‘INVINCIBLE’ (on the cap tally) was used up to 1916, when the name was dropped as likely to give offence to relatives of the dead of the HERO cruiser of that name lost at the Battle of Jutland, and it was replaced by ‘EXCELLENT’, equally splendid for the purpose.

Condition: Sign shows age of use with chips of enamel, there is also rust where the enamel is missing. Sign has been restored/touch up painted in some places (wasn't done by me). Paint can be removed for restoration.
